Mark Reed-Edwards
Chief WriterMark Reed-Edwards is a writer with broad, global experience across branding, content strategy, and social media. He has written for senior executives at Fortune 500 companies, was involved in early social and community efforts and worked as a trailblazing web marketer.
Mark currently consults on content, branding and other marketing issues with early-stage startups and small businesses. Recently, Mark ran brand, creative, and content for Sophos, a UK-based IT security provider. Earlier, Mark spent six years at Yankee Group, where he built the content and creative team from the ground up and led the company’s rebranding efforts in 2006. Before Yankee Group, Mark trailblazed web marketing at Intranets.com, an IdeaLab startup that was subsequently sold to WebEx/Cisco for $45 million.
In the late 1990s, Mark created groundbreaking online communities at EMC before the term social media was coined. He also worked at Stratus Computer and Lechmere, Inc., and started his career in broadcasting as a producer for Dick Clark’s United Stations Radio Networks.
Mark writes on branding for OPENForum and Eyes On Sales.
“What inspires me? Staring at a blank page and knowing somewhere down the road—an hour, a week, a month—I’ll fill it up. It might seem daunting, and sometimes it is. But that’s what I love to do."
