About the Moderator

Janet MutoJanet Muto, Janet Muto is a veteran marketing executive with strong expertise in SaaS, technology, sales, and the small and medium-size business (SMB) market. Prior to co-founding High Start Group, she served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Constant Contact, where she grew the SaaS business to 25,000 SMB customers. She has held management positions at MicroTouch, HP, Apollo Computer, and Prime Computer.

Meet the Panelists:

katie raeKatie Rae Managing Director, Project 11 Ventures
Katie’s expertise is in building Internet-based businesses and communities. She has deep experience in all phases of company develop- ment: from idea and team formation, to product development and business building. She was the head of Product for Microsoft Startup Labs, SVP of Product at Eons, and VP of Community and Communication at Lycos. Katie lectures at MIT on the topics of product ideation, product management, and user communities. She holds a BA in Biology from Oberlin College and an MBA from Yale University.

Brian HarroldBrian Harrold Chief Product Officer,
Communispace Corporation

Brian’s current responsibilities at Communispace include product planning and management. He was Vice President of Interactive Products at IDC, the International IT Market Research and Advisory Services firm, responsible for interactive and global strategies and electronic delivery of IDC’s research. Brian served as the Chief Learning Officer at Gartner Learning, directing design and development of their learning architecture delivery strategies. Brian began his career with Ernst & Young. He graduated from Bentley University with degrees in Computer Science and Management.

Derek PeplauDerek Peplau Director of Product, Mzinga
Derek has spent his career building and marketing award-winning products with a strong focus on usability and community. He was a senior product manager at Cisco-WebEx, where he played a key role in the marketing and development of the company’s on-demand collaborative solutions, including WebEx Connect and WebOffice. He has also held product and marketing positions at Intranets.com, Salesnet, and NewsEdge Corporation. Derek is a graduate of Colgate University.

Andrew BurtonAndrew Burton VP, Access & Management, LogMeIn
Andrew is a software and technology industry veteran who manages the development, delivery and marketing of LogMeIn’s Access and Management products. He has a long track record of introducing and managing innovative products for market-leading technology companies, including Symantec Corporation, IMlogic, Groove Networks (a Microsoft company), USinternetworking (an AT&T company), and Accenture. He earned his MBA from Boston College, a Masters in Information Systems from University College, Dublin, and a BS from Oregon State University.

Alo MukerjiAlo Mukerji Managing Director, Product Strategy, Compete, Inc
At Compete, Alo is responsible for identifying new product and market opportunities and planning the long-term product roadmap. She held product management and planning roles at Constant Contact, expanding their product suite beyond email marketing. Alo was responsible for selecting and defining Constant Contact’s Online Survey and Event Marketing products as well as market analysis and pricing strategy. She has held product management and marketing positions at eRoom Technology (now Documentum/EMC), EMC, and Accenture. She specializes in new product selection and definition, product management, customer research, SMB and Saas ap- plications, and product pricing. Alo holds a BS from Columbia University in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. She has also done post-graduate work on Pricing Strategy at the Kellogg School of Management.
